Franca Spiteri - Principal

Our Principal is Franca Spiteri. Franca has over 25 years of experience gained through working in accounting firms and within private industry in areas of technology, travel, manufacturing, automotive, home repair, construction, distribution, and many other industries.

Franca founded Spiteri Associates as an answer to her client needs as demands on her time continued to grow. She realized that her clients benefited from her experience and they also benefit from a high level of service that she could deliver with associates. By working with associates, Franca is able to have time in the day to provide her trademark high level of service and competency.

Mark Spiteri - General Manager

As General Manager, Mark generally works behind the scenes ensuring Spiteri Associates' clients are serviced to a high standard and everything runs smoothly and efficiently. When you get a reminder that your paperwork is due so we can file your HST (for example) or email that your paperwork has arrived and in process, it comes from Mark or an automated system designed by him. He manages the workflow to ensure deadlines are met and clients are kept informed.

Mark's background is in Online Marketing and Business Operations. Before Spiteri Associates, Mark was co-founder and principal at Solaris, a small-business consulting company specializing in professional services. His tenure as a marketing manager of larger companies as well as a Director at web/IT companies has provided the necessary background to assist Spiteri Associates clients' implementation and use of the latest technologies related to their accounting and operations needs. 

Maria Nagy - Bookkeeping Manager

Maria has continued her learning after graduating from university with a thirst for ever improving her business skills as exemplified by her experience in full-cycle accounting with a background in several specialties.

At Spiteri Associates, Maria's contagious energy and love of people has her leading the bookkeeping team where her focus and attention to detail are constantly in high gear and welcome by the whole team. Senior Bookkeepers look to her for support and oversight and Juniors appreciate her mentorship.

Anna Shafiq - Quality Assurance Manager

Anna has extensive experience with public accounting. Anna graduated university with a Bachelor of Management degree and studied Accounting at George Brown College. 

Anna joined the Spiteri Associates Team in 2016 and quickly made huge contributions to the clients that we serve.  She has a passion for continued learning and developing her knowledge of accounting strategies, and helping to build strong relationships with clients and provide quality service.

Anna is charged with improving quality, consistency and reliability by working collaboratively with all team members to ensure seamless operations to achieve these shared goals. She also works with client accountants by preparing year-end schedules ensuring the accuracy of the fiscal year's bookkeeping. She checks periods and puts a period on the fiscal year.
